Well, after a loss on Tuesday the Viking boys got their game on and came back strong, with a commanding 5-0 win against the Cavemen of American Fork. It was another beautiful day for tennis and it was great to see the boys show up mentally as well as physically. The match of the day was also the last match of the day and goes to 2nd doubles team Tanner Merrill and Ryan Clifford, who after dropping the first set, dug deep and decided to get more aggressive, and forced the match into a third set, where they eventually overcame the Cavemen to win the match 7-5 in the third! Ryan was solid with his serving and ground strokes and Tanner switched on his "Black Ops" mode and began his "search and destroy" game and finished the match with some big forehands and overheads! 1st singles Hayden de Hoyos played well today and it was apparent that his shoulder was feeling much better today. 2nd singles, Jake Harris was also feeling much better today after being ill for the last week, and was able to get through his match in only 2 sets!! Nick Olsen the Vikings 3rd singles man was also recovering from illness (strep throat) and was able to perform more of his tennis magic including a hitting a "tweener" for a winner! 1st Doubles team Quen Wilson and Jacob Eddington didn't feel like staying on the court long today, so they decided to get it over with as quick as possible. Quen was in a hurry cause needed to get working on his Eagle project which was to be completed by the end of the night. They played great today and took care of the Caveman team in about 40 min. Quen then ran off the court and said "I gotta go!" to which Jacob said, "maybe Quen should have an Eagle project to complete after every match!" ;) It was a great day for tennis!
